Hot Chip Apologise Over Crowd Issues At LCD Soundsystem Gig

Hot Chip have aplogised after fans were subject to long queues at the opening night of their co-headlining tour with LCD Soundsystem.

Many fans were forced to queue for up to half an hour in cold conditions to get into Alexandra Palace in London last night (November 10).

The queues, which continued at the bars and toilets inside the venue, meant some fans missed Hot Chip's performance.

In a message on Twitter, Hot Chip said: “Apologies for frustrations over queuing to get in, for drinks, toilets etc - we were unaware of these issues, will look into what happened.”

As previously reported on Gigwise, headliners LCD Soundsystem were due on stage at 9pm but didn't start their performance until 9.35pm.

Despite the delay, the band, led by James Murphy, delivered a crowd-pleasing set. You can see highlights from both band's performances on Gigwise below.

LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip's UK dates continue tonight (November 11) at the Coronet in London, before touring.

  • Some people were waiting over an hour and a half in the cold. I missed Hot Chip too and was appalled at the lack of organisation at the venue. I'll never go there again.

  • I missed two thirds of the Hot Chip set because of the queue. People pushing in at the front didn't help things. Inside was even worse, getting drinks was an absolute nightmare. Won't be going to this venue again.

  • Love LCD, they were brilliant as ever, James Murphy is a legend. Boo to those disoprganised blood sucking leeches at Live Nation. I will NEVER go to Ally Pally again.

  • looking at the queue i went to the local pub, but i missed most of hot chip and the queue at the bar was just the final blow. Also, even though a magical place, its acoustic doesn't fit. loved the balloons ! 3rd time seeing LCD, they could have come back on stage for a last song ....especially as they said they ll stop this musical project.
