- What a disappointment. Were Roxy Music doing us a favour by being in Manchester?Lack lustre performance with dreadful lighting, appallingly distorted sound. It was hard to see where Bryan Ferry was on the stage.Get Bryan Ferry to stick to his solo performances. Why not try the Bridgewater Hall and work with the Halle Orchestra, like Elbow. He has some great songs eg on Dylaneque and Olympia. Not cheap evening-£112 for tickets, £15 for the prog. £12 for the taxi to MEN,left early.
- Concert was outstanding. Followed them since 1974 and heard good old vintage music. Tracks off L.P.s Roxy Music and Stranded that I had not heard live before eg. 2HB, Just Like You. Vintage Roxy Music at their best. Often people get confused between Roxy Music and Ferry concerts. Lot of difference - two different shows completely. Different styles of music. Ferry has a huge portfolio. For those who complain - check your show and ticket!!
Roxy's influence will never die.
- I agree with you -Outstanding Gig - Musicianship first rate - Covered all the great early Roxy tracks- Many get confused between Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry Concerts. Different genre of music. Some people need to check the gig they are going to.
It was great to hear some of the early work such as 2HB, Just Like You and Amazona.
You are not going to hear his solo work at a Roxy concert.
- Any true Roxy fan would have loved last night, I totally agree with the Mikes a Bryan Ferry solo concert is poles apart from a Roxy gig, the Neil Young cover "Like A Hurricane" was superb.
- Fantastic performance of the proper Roxy; if people want to hear the Ferry songs then go see a solo gig later this year. Last night was a rare treat for Roxy fans and my only disapointment was that he didn't play In Every Drem Home a Heartache, but you can't win them all.
