JK Rowling promised a big announcement, and that's precisely what the world got, as she laid out the first details of the Pottermore project, which will no doubt turn out to be the Wizarding encyclopaedia fans were hoping for, and so much more.
As well as being able to find out intricate details about the wizarding world, fans will be able to directly interact with the website, through mediums such as asking the sorting hat questions, and contributing in a way that is sure to make Pottermore something of a wiki as well.
Rumours had been spreading of the website being an online game; this is something it is not. But rumours of the encyclopaedia, fan site, and extra, orginal content, as well as the promise of the release of all seven Potter books as digital downloads have all been proven true.
Pottermore will go fully live in October, but for now, you'll have to make do with these teasers.
