Noel Gallagher has said that he thinks that his brother Noel must have had a difficult time in Oasis.
The pair who once fronted 1990s Brit Pop band Oasis have been on the rocks since the band officially split over two years ago.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Noel commented on his time as a part of Oasis, and his brother’s role in the band exclaiming: “I often thought Liam's role in Oasis must have been difficult, singing somebody else's songs.
Noel went on to say “You can read the words and understand [literally] what they mean but you don't instinctively understand them” speaking of the lyrics his brother once sang for the group.''
At a time when his current band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, are a soaring success scoring the second bestselling rock album of last year, only trumped by Coldplay, it would seem brother Liam is being kicked when he is down.
Talking further about his solo material he subtly hints at just why Oasis was not the right fit for him, digging a little harder at his sibling “When I'm singing I know what it means, I know who the person is, I can deliver its sentiment a little better. All the other songs I can deliver the lines with the story. I wrote it so I know what it means”.
