    The 42nd Super Bowl takes place in Indianapolis this Sunday and as usual, the half-time entertainment will be discussed as much as the actual game.

    This year sees Madonna make her first Super Bowl appearance, with some help from Nicky Minaj, M.I.A and Cirque du Soleil.

    The American singer is set to perform five songs, including new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin,' 'Vogue' and 'Holiday.'

    Over the years, there have some been truly memorable Super Bowl performances, to say the least. From Janet Jackson and the infamous 'nipplegate' of 2004, to Prince singing 'Purple Rain' in the rain, Gigwise has created a gallery celebrating the half-time performances of the last 10 years.
