    Dry The River, All The Young, Spector, Ren Harvieu and Willy Moon all took to the stage at Manchester's Ritz earlier this week.

    XFM presented their new music night with performances from all of the acts and also awarded The Vaccines this year's XFM's New Music Award.

    The award, which was given to the best debut album released by a British artist in 2011,  was chosen by a panel of judges that included Muse drummer Dominic Howard, Editors' frontman Tom Smith, Noah &The Whale singer Charlie Fink and former New Order bassist Peter Hook.

    Competition for the award came from Beady Eye, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Miles Kane, Chapel Club, James Blake, Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Scroobius Pip.
