Morrissey kicks off the Olympic discussion with his latest angry rant. Posting on his website, the ex-Smiths frontman insisted that the Olympics is all about jingoism and false patriotism, saying: "Although the spirit of 1939 Germany now pervades throughout media-brand Britain, the 2013 grotesque inevitability of Lord and Lady Beckham (with Sir Jamie Horrible close at heel) is, believe me, a fate worse than life. WAKE UP WAKE UP." Wake up? We think you need to CALM DOWN, Morrissey!
Snow Patrol: Everyone was excited about Jessica Ennis''s gold medal and Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol also got into the act. He took to Twitter immediately after her win to write: "ENNISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! GoSurely you should get more than one gold medal for winning the heptathlon. Well done Jessica Ennis. Amazing achievement. on girl."
Cheryl Cole also showed support to Jessica Ennis, tweeting: "Congratulations @J_ennis you did your country proud!" and later adding "YESsssss MO!!! Come on #teamGB" after Mo Farah won gold in the 10,000 metres. Cole has been vocal about the Olympics, also tweeting Tom Daley after he suffered abuse from a Twitter user. The Girls Aloud star wrote: "I think you are amazing! Will you teach me how to swan dive?" We''re willing to bet that Tom took her up on the offer!
Lil Wayne was using Twitter to speak out about the American swim team - in particular his friend Michael Phelps. Not only did he call Phelps ''the greatest Olympian of all time'', but he also congratulated Ryan Lochte, the USA swim team and Gabby Douglas, the sixteen year old who already gained a gold medal in gymnastics. "Glad i lived to see what Gabby Douglas did in the Olympics," Wayne wrote.
Example is another Ennis fan, tweeting: "ENNISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Go on girl." He's also been to see some of the events, tweeting about watching one of the races at the Olympic stadium: "Damn. Once in a lifetime experience being in the stadium for that race. Wow." He also later made a cheeky reference to the women in the Olympics, writing: "I'd love to stay in all day and perv over the gorgeous female shot putters but I have an album to finish."
Josh Groban took a more laidback approach to the Olympics, asking his followers: "Does the person who doesn''t row but yells at the rowers at the end of the boat get a medal? I think I can be an Olympian." He also defended Gabby Douglas from the criticism of her hair, writing: "I would bet that anyone making fun of Gabby Douglas''s hair can''t do a somersault. #gorgeous #champion."
One Direction have all chimed in one way or another.

Niall Horan wrote a lovely (if mostly misspelled) tweet, saying: "Gettin up early this mornin just t watch the olypics, with a cup of tea! #YOP," while bandmate Liam Payne went with a simpler: "Olympic timeeee, excitteeeedddd."
By the way, can someone get these boys some spelling lessons?
The Wanted have had Olympics fever from the start, as they carried the Olympic torch on its journey. Nathan Sykes tweeted while watching the Olympics: "Watching dreams being made at the olympics! And of course we couldn''t end this without Lady Gaga sharing her opinion. The singer posted a typically melodramatic tweet, saying: "The olympics is the best ever. but i went through a whole pack of tissues last night. watching hard working athletes achieve their dreams." She later tweeted about a USA win, adding: "Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? There''s no "I" in team."
