11 German bands that you need in your life

After their World Cup win, a definitive list of great bands to come from Germany

Seeed: With an impressive three singers from eleven members, Seeed, renowned for their unusual use of horns, is Germany�s answer to quality Reggae.

Atari Teenage Riot: A digital hardcore group formed in 1992, ATR pair a newly emerging Techno sound with Punk vocals to deliver anti-fascist fast pace hits.

Can: An experimental, psychedelic rock band, Can enjoyed much success in the late 60s early 70s and are widely regarded as heavily influencing the New Wave and Electronic music of today.

Rammstein: A Neue Deutsche Hart band with a style sometimes described as industrial music or groove metal, Rammstein are a successful 6-piece known for their pyrotechnic on-stage antics. FEUER!

Neu: The brainchild of Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother after their split from Kraftwerk, Neu received much retrospective praise as being pioneers of Krautrock.

Die Arzte: A Berlin-based punk band, Die Arzte has enjoyed much success from a staggering 12 albums over an even more staggering 30 years.

Die Toten Hosen: A punk band from Dusseldorf, Die Toten Hosen has been belting out hits since the 80s. Self-taught musicians the band were heavily influenced by the punk scene of the 70s.

Kraftwerk: Pioneers in their field, no line up of German bands would be complete without Kraftwerk - they're one of the best and most influential of all time. Popularising Electronic music, the band were recently honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammy Academy.

Fettes Brot: A Hip/Hop three-piece that has churned out hits since 1992, Fettes Brot has enjoyed bouts of commercial success since the release of single �Nordisch By Nature�.

Boys Noize: An electronic music producer and DJ, Boys Noize - the work of Alexander Ridha - has worked with many big artists including Snoop Dogg and Skrillex.

Zhod: New kids on the block, Zhod are an upcoming garage rock band tinged with surfy-sounding chords. Check them out at this year�s Liverpool Psych Fest.
