Weather: Wellies? Don't be ridiculous. You don't need wellies. Or raincoats. Or ponchos. Or umbrellas... Also, the people of Indio, California don't know the meaning of the word mud.
Great sound quality: Don't worry about being right at the front for your favourite artists - Coachella organisors position speakers throughout the crowd, so the sound quality is impeccable even if the artist looks like a teeny tiny speck of dust on the horizon.
AC/DC: If you didn't manage to get tickets for AC/DC's Wembley show - then don't worry. Who needs London when you've got California? Rock out among the palm trees in the safe hands of the most talented overgrown schoolboys in the biz.
Exciting new artists: If AC/DC aren't your cup of tea (don't use that expression in California, you'll stick out like a sore thumb) you could, if you so wish, check out some newer acts such as FKA Twigs, Chet Faker, Jungle, and MO.
Royal Blood: Talking of new acts, there are few that have had a better year than Royal Blood, who started gathering ridiculously massive crowds during 2014 festival season. The presence and noise created by just two members is truly a sight and sound to behold.
Weird art installations: It's not going to be the sole reason anyone flies out, but it's still pretty memorable to spend your weekend in the company of a three story astonaut art car, a colour-changing pretzel and a two story robot.
St. Vincent: If you don't go and watch the woman responsible for Gigwise's favourite album of 2014, we won't be angry, but we will be very, very disappointed. Her live sets are as close as any atheist can get to a religious experience.
Florence + The Machine: With a bit of luck, Florence's third album will be out by April, and there'll be a whole new batch of grandiose, orchestral numbers that are perfectly befitting to a festival setting.
Location: Indio, California is in the Colorado Desert region of the Sonoran Desert. It's full of palm trees and distant mountains, and has an average high of 30 degrees Celsius. Plus, if you can get extra time off work, it's pretty close to LA, Vegas, Sedona, the Grand Canyon... the list goes on.
Hip hop: There is, as always, a wildly eclectic line-up for this year's Coachella. It's a particularly strong year for hip hop acts though, with Azealia Banks, Flying Lotus, Action Bronson and Run The Jewels to name but a few.
Less boozy atmosphere: Drinking alcohol is only allowed in specific allocated areas WAIT HEAR US OUT. It's not ideal in many respects, but it also means there's less drunken crowd fights, and people throwing up and pissing everywhere. There really is enough of that back in good old England.
British artists: This is a good opportunity to see the artists you're used to seeing through a haze of fog and rain and cider in a slightly different context. This year plays host to the likes of George Ezra, Hozier, Alt-J, Marina and the Diamonds, Jamie XX and Kasabian (who, incidentally, are hilariously low down the Coachella line-up poster).
Celebrity-spotting: If you're into that sort of thing, then you're in luck - Coachella is awash with famouses. Here's Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in happier times. You should really be watching the music though.
Jack White: White's Bonnaroo set last year went down as one of the best of all time - and Coachella should be no different. Armed with his new(ish) album Lazaretto, which made it into the top 10 of Gigwise's albums of 2014, White is a force to be reckoned with.
Interpol: They're currently at the peak of their powers, and are currently touring with the perfect festival-friendly setlist.
