Opening with ‘Harvey’ the track starts off with a steady pace, which shortly flows into a silky, funk-pop song. The prominent rings of a high-pitch key presses a light-hearted and warming tone upon the song.
‘If You Know What’s Right’ is a jangle-pop ballad filled with finger-clicking and head bobbing riffs. It’s undeniable rhythmic chord progressions create an instant positive vibe. It’s a playful addition to the record and exaggerates the clear, fun tone of the LP.
Husky vocals depict imagery of life in a pop-art decorated diner, where everyone’s wearing frocks and dancing to the music elevated by a multi-coloured jukebox. The duo’s effortless skill of creating such an atmospheric album leads me to believe the band can only go up from here. ‘Breathing Easy’ opens with murmured lyrics, spoken in a droning way, and is drenched in melodic jingles that don’t sound too dissimilar to circus music.
Finishing with ‘Under Wraps’ this song plays around with soft acoustics and easy going harmonies. Its sombre tone is a pleasant ending to such a well-thought-out album.
Her’s have an authentic sense of style as they shape their very own distinctive texture to their sound. Weaving in dream-like acoustics with tranquilising vocals, Invitation to Her’s is a warming creation of upbeat tracks that are bound to heighten your mood.
