More about: Mellah
Mellah has finally shrugged off his label issues and is back in full voice, as evidenced by his charming show at cult London venue The Windmill last week (7 October).
Though he's curently sans album, Mellah nevertheless has quite the back catalogue—and a spotless one it is. Mellah can jump from forlorn beauty (such as on latest single 'Heaven Only Knows') to socially-conscious indie ('What It Is') with no bother.
Tonight, Mellah is showing an important part of his act: the drive to make a change. "I never started any of this to become famous, I did it essentially because there didn’t seem to be enough voices in the industry speaking up on this stuff" he told Laviea Thomas in an interview for Issue 1 of Gigwise magazine, "My aim was to release really accessible songs that are quite fun but have a message and reason to exist." Putting his money where his mouth is, Mellah is playing in aid of Choose Love: Choose Music for Help Refugees, which you can donate to here.
With three EP's on the way, and the first, Them, arriving mid-November, there's plenty to look forward to from Mellah, an artist who with every release and show is proving just how special a talent he is.
