Supergrass founding member Danny Goffey has returned under the new guise of 'Vangoffey' and has released a new music video for his song 'Race Of Life'. Watch it below.
Since Supergrass broke up Goffey has kept himself busy by playing drums for Babyshambles, and recording a covers album with fellow Supergrass alumni Gaz Coombes. Now is his fully fledged solo return, under the guise of 'Vangoffey', with a new song and video entitled 'Race Of Life' (produced by Simon Byrt and Pulp's Steve Mackey).
Directed by Vangoffey, the video stars Goffey's sharply dressed son Frank, who mimes the words whilst the subject matter flashes up behind him (notably on one particularly horrifying image of "wannabe gangsters").
Check out the new Vangoffey video, down below:
Although Frank is naturally the star of the show, the video does also feature a cameo from Danny towards the end giving his best impression of dad's dancing. It couldn't be more fitting for the track - anyone who recently enjoyed Baxter Dury's combination of wit and wisdom will find much to enjoy here. Prepare for "Take your jacket off and get into it" to be one of the slogans that defines festival season.
