Roadkill in the darkness of the outback is seldom the subject of a sweet summer single, but Courtney Barnett is not like most artists. Watch her performing the brilliant 'Dead Fox' in session for Gigwise below.

"I wrote parts of it on the drive from Melbourne to Sydney, which is like a ten hour, really boring long drive," Barnett tells Gigwise. "It kind of took me like a year or so to put together."

It was certainly well worth the wait. A highlight of her awesome debut album, Sometimes I Sit And Think And Sometimes I Just Sit, 'Dead Fox' captures why she's won so many hearts - bristling with wit, curiosity, a playful idiosyncrasy and a happy-go-lucky energy. See the track stripped down to its bare bones to let its true character really shine here, fitting filmed at The Fox
