Neo soul duo Lion Babe have been on the lips of industry tastemakers and fans alike for quite some time now. The New Yorkers' breakthrough hit 'Treat Me Like Fire' is still burning up mp3 players, and debut album Begin, which was released earlier this year, has also been a favourite among fans.
Taking a moment to talk to Gigwise's ill Will backstage at this year's Reading Festival, both singer Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman discuss Childish Gambino, the single 'Jump Hi' he featured on with them, and the role 'Treat Me Like Fire' had in ushering them to the forefront of the industry.
Meanwhile, Lucas discusses his production influences and where they all come from. The duo also touch upon A Tribe Called Quest and Dae Zhen's reworking of 'Treat Me Like Fire', among other things. Check it out in full below.
