The Maccabees have released the video for 'Marks To Prove It', the first single of their new album. Watch the new video below.

Ever since the release of Given To The Wild in 2012, The Maccabees have been back and forth, busy building and rebuilding a sound for their keenly anticipated self-produced fourth LP. In the video for first single 'Marks To Prove It', director Joseph Connor shows shots of the City under construction, but as soon as the subtle two-toned siren of the second guitar wails into life, it is clear that the band have found a sound more richly and carefully constructed than ever.

'These new songs are a reminder of why we started the band,' says lead guitarist Hugo White. 'With the enthusiasm to play music that’s exciting and makes us excited.'

The Maccabees happily keep pace alongside these frenetic, fast-motion cityscapes, but the slowed outro to the song hints towards a darker edge to the upcoming self-produced album. 'Marks To Prove It' is the only new material we have for now, but after the band confirmed the album is complete and announced four UK shows to mark its release on 11 May, we might not have long to wait.
