Brace yourselves Coldplay fans - the band have just announced an intimate, one-off gig in East London, which takes place next month ahead of the release of their new album A Head Full Of Dreams. Fingers crossed a full UK tour will follow.

The band will play at St John's Hackney Church on 3 December as part of a live Radio One broadcast presented by Annie Mac. During the show, they'll be previewing songs from their seventh album, which is released the following day.

Speaking to Annie Mac after the news was announced, Chris Martin said, "The last album was silver and blue, and this one is colour. That's what we were going for. We wanted to have a feeling of freedom and go down whatever road we felt excited by. Ghost Stories is about dealing with some heartbreak. This is about dreams."

He continued, "We just had so much fun in the studio. I thought I would be over sleepless nights, [but] we're raring to go."

Meanwhile, the band recently revealed that they'll be taking part in something altogether bigger - Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball, which takes place between 5 and 6 December. Buy Jingle Bell Ball tickets here.

Tickets for Coldplay's intimate St John's Hackney Church show, which takes place on 3 December, go on sale at 7.45pm on Monday, 16 November. Buy tickets and get more information here.
