Following the surprise release of her new single and video, 'Formation', Beyonce is reportedly set to release her new album this spring.
The singer unveiled the video, which was both an unapologetic celebration of blackness and a critique of police brutality against black people, earlier this month. Despite the fact that it's still unlisted on YouTube, it's got nearly 30 million views.
Now, it looks as though she might be planning on following up the single with a new album as early as April. Knowing Beyonce, she won't tell us when it's out until she drops it on our lap.
Hits Daily Double reports that "Beyoncé is close to making a new worldwide, multi-album deal with Sony Music, and the final release under the current deal is now set for April."
They continued, "But there are rumors of another Beyoncé album in 2016, this one a joint project with husband Jay Z. Beyoncé’s star power is off the charts—her stadium tour sold out within hours after the Super Bowl promo, including two nights apiece in New York’s Citi Field and Chicago’s Soldier Field."
Rumours of a joint album between Beyonce and Jay Z have been around since the pair did a joint tour back in 2014.
