Manchester newcomers The 1975 have confirmed the release of their debut album, which will drop in September of this year.
The four-piece, who have already tasted chart success with breakthrough hit 'Chocolate', have teamed up with Arctic Monkeys' collaborator Mike Crossley, who co-produced the album. The band release new single 'The City' on 20 May, 2013 and, confident of their ongoing success, have announced two new live shows at the start of 2014. The 1975 will also join Bastille and Dizzee Rascal to support Muse at their Wembley stadium gig on 26 May, 2013.
The band's frontman Matt Healy previous spoke of his surprise at the success of 'Chocolate', telling Gigwise: "We genuinely did not expect our popularity to accelerate in the way that it did after we released 'Sex' and 'Chocolate' - so we thought it was very important that we took this early opportunity to expose as many people as possible to music that we feel defines us."
