The artists taking part in this years Secret 7" project have been announced, where the buyer buys a new record without knowing which of the limited releases they are getting.
This year punters on Record Store Day (April 19) will be able to land their paws on tracks from Lorde, Massive Attack, Elbow, Black Sabbath, Jake Bugg, Roxy Music and T-Rex. Each pressing is extremely limited with just 700 of the individually designed records being sent out to retailers. Artists can also have their artwork featured on one of the releases by submitting entries here.
"We take 7 tracks from 7 of the best-known musicians around and press each one 100 times to 7" vinyl," write the organisers. "We then invite creatives from around the world to interpret the tracks in their own style, resulting in a one-of-a-kind sleeve for every 7”. The creatives are made up of famous names through to gems we unearth through artwork submitted to us here on our website."

The whole event is particularly intriguing as it requires the customer to purchase a vinyl without knowing what is inside, essentially creating an extremely limited edition lucky dip for the less discerning collector willing to take a risk.
Last year saw songs available from Elton John, Public Enemy, Nas, Jesse Ware, HAIM, Nick Drake, and Laura Marling.
