Fans of The Voice have given largely positive reactions to Kaiser Chief Ricky Wilson's debut appearance on the BBC show, while others were less than impressed.
Wilson joined Kylie Minogue as a new coach on the BBC1 talent show, replacing The Script's Danny O'Donoghue and Jessie J to appear alongside Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am.
In what seemed to be a pre-emptive apology for his performance as coach and judge, Wilson tweeted before the show began:
Only 1 hour to go until the start of #TheVoiceUK And don't forget guys, if it's not 'for you' then you don't have to watch! So it's win win.

It seems the singer's apprehensions were largely unwarranted though, with most people reacting positively... Although a lot of the compliments were regarding his appearance.
My crush for 2014 @Rickontour #TheVoice beautiful man.

Well isn't @Rickontour a beaut. Kaiser Chiefs are one of the best bands I've seen live for sure; these acts are so lucky to work with him!

I'm sorry, when did @Rickontour happen? Delightful. And so polite.... I'd like one please.

Not everyone was quite so complimentary though, with much of the criticism focussed on branding Wilson a "sell-out."
I'm watching the voice so I can confirm that Ricky Wilson sucks dick! You fucking sell out!

I love Ricky Wilson. Why did he sell out.

Oh my god. Ricky Wilson you sell out All Saints posery bastard. You are NOT rock and roll at all pal.

They're not saying anything Wilson hasn't already admitted himself though, with the singer explaining: "I know that everyone is going, 'He thinks he's going to sell more records and more tickets.' And that is why I'm doing it. I'm not a fucking idiot."
Well, he's nothing if not honest.
