Poor old Bono, he just isn't having much luck lately. In his latest mishap of misfortune, the U2 frontman has been forced to pull his Tonight Show residency after needing surgery following a bike accident.
Just last week, the 'Vertigo' singer cheated death after the door came off his private jet. He left the plane unharmed - but now, according to a message on the band's website, Bono has not been so lucky.
"It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down," said the band in a statement. "Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding."
U2 released their new album, Songs Of Innocence, earlier this year, and are said to be gearing up for a tour of indoor arenas. Meanwhile, Bono once again features on the new Band Aid single.
