Prince is rumoured to have "something very very special" planned for this year's Grammy Awards.
A source told US Weekly that the seven time Grammy winner may be making an appearance on 8 February at the Staples Center in LA. “He has something very, very special in the works!” said the (clearly very excitable) source.
If Prince does appear, one expects the reaction in the room will be every bit as intense as his recent cameo at the Golden Globes, where the Purple One presented an award to John Legend and Common for 'Glory'.
Our personal hope is that he gets to present an award to FKA Twigs for 'Best Recording Package', after Twigs performed at Paisley Park last year. But we suspect that's about as likely as Prince himself giving an interview to E's Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet.
Prince last appeared at the Grammy Awards in 2013 to present Gotye with the Record Of The Year award (where the Belgian producer thanked the cane-carrying funk magnet).
Prince & 3RDEYEGIRL released the video for 'Marz' earlier this month.
Performers announced so far at the Grammys include Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, John Legend and Common, Miranda Lambert and Usher, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran and Madonna. LL Cool J will host for the fourth year in a row.
