New Order have announced details of their long-awaited eighth album - with Music Complete coming out in September.

The electro-pioneers' last proper studio LP was Waiting For The Siren's Call, which dropped back in 2005. They then released Lost Sirens - an album made up of outtakes and tracks recorded during those sessions - back in 2013.

Now, the band are back - with their first studio record to not feature founding bassist Peter Hook.

"Music Complete finds the group revitalised, and where the group has previously pushed toward electronics or guitars, here the two are in balance," say the band. "Music Complete also marks a return to the studio for Gillian Gilbert, this is her first album with New Order since 2001's Get Ready."

The album will be released on 25 September on CD, download and limited edition clear vinyl. In addition, as well as an exclusive 8-piece deluxe vinyl collection.

The tracklist for Music Complete is:
Restless
Singularity
Plastic
Tutti Frutti
People On The High Line
Stray Dog
Academic
Nothing But A Fool
Unlearn This Hatred
The Game
Superheated

Watch Peter Hook in conversation with Gigwise below

"Because of the trouble we're having as New Order, because of the legal problems that I'm still having with the others, it tends to sour everything and make you think it was all shit then you play the stuff and realise 'Oh My God...'," former bassist Peter Hook told Gigwise last year.

"Even though you hate each other, you did create something absolutely magical. It's nice to get that back, it keeps you going through something very difficult.

Hooky added: "I'm very jealous of them lot, the others, 'Fraud Order', because they're going about doing a new LP and I'm thinking 'ah, you bastards, that's what we (The Light) could be doing - we should be doing that'. I've always had that thing, it was always drummed into me from when we started: keep on going, keep writing, your next song is your best song.

"We are going to do it, we've started, we're fired up by the others," he laughed. "So thank you Bernard, Stephen and Gillian."
