On the day the video of Kermit The Frog singing LCD Soundsystem's 'New York I Love You' has been unveiled, I thought I'd present some of my favourite singing cameos on Sesame Street from over the decades.

Featuring REM dancing with furry monsters,  Andrea Bocelli singing Elmo to sleep, Feist teaching muppets how to count and the moment that made me realise that James Blunt isn't a cunt after all, there are some side splittingly funny guest songs.

For those of you who haven't seen the poignant Kermit The Frog LCD Soundsystem cover, you can by clicking here.

Here are my favourites below:
  • Feist: '1,2,3,4' – Far better than the original in every single department methinks.

  • REM: 'Furry Happy Monsters' – Easily the zenith of the band's sprawling three decade career. The female muppet is sheer genius. All together “Come on monsters, you don't have to cry, you can be happy!”

  • Andrea Bocelli: 'Time To Say Goodnight' – Never before has the helium inhaling red fur ball been so cute.

  • Chris Brown: 'See The Signs' – Another Elmo classic, filmed in 2007.

  • James Blunt: 'My Triangle' - Before his Sesame Street appearance I thought James Blunt was a bit of a cunt. After seeing this however, I now hold him as a genius and comedy great. Kind of.
