Since Florence and The Machine broke onto the music scene back in early 2009 it seems that everyone has fallen in love with the charm and flawless talent of Florence Welch and debut album 'Lungs'.
That haunting voice and beautifully crafted lyrics on tracks like 'Between Two Lungs' and 'Howl' saw Florence and The Machine tipped for Mercury nomination as well as certifying Welch as the queen of 'goth pop'.
After heading over to LA for the summer to work once again with a crack team of producers including Paul Epworth on the follow-up to 'Lungs', the band gave fans a taster of positive things to come today (August 23) with track 'What The Gave Me'.
By no means a new track after being previewed earlier this year at a number of the band's live shows 'What The Water Gave Me' became a favourite amongst fans and it's clear to see why.
'What The Water Gave Me', is a blossoming theatrical song that hits that loved 'Florence and The Machine' sound right on the head. When Paul Epwoth recently said that Florence's sophomore effort had no weak tracks it seems that man may have been right.
That Epworth 'big hit' sound pushes Welch's vocals, as she echos out: ''Time it took us. To where the water was. That's what the water gave me. And time goes quicker. Between the two of us. Oh, my love, don't forsake me. Take what the water gave me.''
Building steadily throughout the send half of the track is truly where it kicks in to epic proportion. Those who may have doubted whether Welch could pull it off a second time round will certainly by no means be in love.
If this is what's to come from one of the most anticipated album's of the year, by god it will be worth the wait and will undoubtedly continue Florence and The Machine's success.
