Singer plugs album gap with 'High For This' cover version
Riding high on her current US success, Ellie Goulding has released her first new material since her debut album 'Lights' in the form of a cover of The Weeknd's 'High For This'.
There's no better way of plugging a gap between albums than tossing eager fans a musican bone in the form of a quick cover version, but Ellie's offering is more than just filler. Her cover of the unspeakably cool US star's urban hit is a blissfully chilled out track which, if not exactly representative of what her new album will sound like, certainly shows that she's got her ear ot the ground when it comes to who's hot on the current music scene.

The Wanted: A Glee cover version shot another British boyband into the US Top Ten singles chart. 'A bit of rough' for teens for whom One Direction seem too squeaky clean.
Adele: Thought the Adele phenomenon had gone on long enough in the UK? In the US she still has two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 and a No.2 album.
Alex Clare: That's the power of the internet. Not only has 'online sensation' Alex Clare made his mark on the UK charts, but has this week debuted at No.73 on the US charts.
Jessie J: Having scored her sixth UK Top Ten hit from her debut album this week with 'Laserlight', The Voice judge is only just getting started in the US, and is currently riding high with UK No.1, 'Domino'.
Florence + The Machine: Florence sold nearly a million copies of her debut album 'Lungs' in America, and is well on the way to repeat the success with current album 'Ceremonials'. She also performed at this year's Coachella festival.
