More about: Aurora
"It's kind of like I feel like I'm Alice in Wonderland," Aurora tells Gigwise as we sit in Hoxton Square, musing over her ever-rising fame at just 19-years-old. "It's very wonderful, a bit scary and a bit weird - I have no idea how I got here."

After starting to write songs and play piano as a child, she found fame in her native Norway in her teens. We fell in love with her in the last year, as her elegiac grace and dramatic take on pop started to sweep the rest of the world. Now that she's covered Oasis' 'Half The World Away' for the new John Lewis Christmas campaign, we're left in no doubt that's an in to Aurora becoming the household name she deserves to be.
"The best thing we can do today is just relax and be happy and try to enjoy just being ourselves," she tells us of the pressures of modern life. "We try too hard to be the idea of something we'd like to be, and I think there's a moment where you realise 'I'm not that person, I'm not cool, I'm maybe a bit awkward, but that's me'... I would encourage people to do just what comes naturally to them."
Amen to that. Watch our chat with Aurora as she tells us what to expect from her 'schizophrenic' debut album, handling her vulnerability, her heroes Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and 'making something beautiful' out of darkness.
