More about: This FeelingHimalayasTom Lumley & The Brave Liaison
Walking into a This Feeling club night, you know exactly what to expect. But aside from energetic live shows and the whiff of Red Stripe, the solidarity that unites everyone involved is perhaps the most poignant piece of the This Feeling puzzle.
With no live shows this Spring due to COVID-19, Gigwise is bringing you a collection of covers from the bands who were meant to be performing for TF over the coming months.

Harnessing their sense of community spirit, founder Mikey Jonns says of the collaborative project: “All these bands were due to play for us this Spring in grassroots venues and whilst clearly that's not happened, it hasn't stopped This Feeling band’s sense of community and spirit, as well as supporting the venues they were due to play (almost all are under threat). Stay at home, get in the zone and if you can please help save the UK's grassroots circuit by chipping in whatever you can. Mikey X”
Today we welcome Himalayas and Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison who have swapped songs. Over to Himalayas with their rendition of ‘Shrink’.
Gigwise: Tell us about the band you're covering…
Himalayas: We’ve know of Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison before through This Feeling mainly. They’re great!
G: How have you adapted to the current situation?
H: We’ve been writing loads and have been trying to keep busy really. We had a pretty busy January and February recording songs so we’ve been able to do quite a lot with our time both before and during Coronavirus.
G: What’s your best This Feeling memory?
H: Probably the first year that we played Isle of Wight Festival, as well as the show being amazing, every band who were there were great and there was a really good atmosphere.
G: What does 'The Zone' mean to you?
H: I think it’s just a huge opportunity for young bands.
Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison have covered ‘Thank God I’m Not You’…
Gigwise: Tell us about the band you're covering…
Tom Lumley & The Brave Liaison: So we’re covering Himalayas a band from Wales. We’ve seen them plenty of times and love what they do. They’re a band we’ve been in touch with and support each other on social media so hopefully there will be a show together soon.
G: How has coronavirus impacted your plans?
TLATBL: We were about to go on a UK tour for This Feeling followed by a summer full of festivals so it’s definitely put a halt on the live side of things for us. We’ve still continued to release our debut EP Sign Of The Times to keep the momentum.
G: How have you adapted to the situation?
TLATBL: We’ve been writing loads as we normally do. The real change has been doing live stream gigs with Tom playing the tracks acoustically. It’s been really cool and loads of new fans have jumped on board through doing it.
G: What’s your best This Feeling memory?
TLATBL: The first festival zone we played. It was Truck Festival in 2018 and we thought we were going to play to a handful of people but instead we walked out to over 300. That weekend was amazing.
G: What does 'The Zone' mean to you?
TLATBL: To us it means a group of people coming together as a family in a space that takes you away from the outside world and drinking too many Red Stripes.
