Gallagher-tested, Gallagher-approved, This Feeling have been a mainstay in promoting the latest indie bands from around the UK for years. They've tipped, among many others, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Blossoms, helping them reach as many people as possible with their career-firing tours.

In February, they lended us their expertise in the newest of the new in indie, publishing their annual 'Big In' list with us. Now, here, you'll find one of those bands spotlighted every week. Get to know them a bit better and have a listen to their latest tune. This week, it's The Chase...

Name: The Chase

Who are your favourite This Feeling bands chosen for Big In this year?

For us it’s gotta be The Skinner Brothers. Great set of lads and class tunes.

Favourite album from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s and recent?

60s – Revolver by The Beatles
70s – Never Mind The Bollocks by the Sex Pistols
80s – The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
90s – Definitely Maybe by Oasis
00s – The State of Things by Reverend and The Makers
Recent – None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive by The Streets

What inspired you to start a band?

For me (Tyler), it was when I snook downstairs in the middle of night (Aged 5) and came across Jimi Hendrix live at the Isle of Wight festival on telly. I was in awe of his performance and knew I wanted to play the guitar there and then.

What's your favourite part of performing live?

For us live shows are our favourite part of being in a band, you can’t beat the feeling and as cliché as it sounds it’s better than any drug you’ll ever do. You can’t beat the energy of a room full of people losing it to a track you wrote in ya bedroom!!! We always have such a laugh on the road and for some reason as a band we always attract life’s nutters and freaks so it makes for some funny stories…

Tell us about your latest release.

We’ve just released our new single ‘Black Cloud’. We wanted to pay homage to bands like The Sex Pistols, The Stooges and early Oasis but with our own twist. It’s a straight out, in ya face, rock n roll belter. We weren’t going to release it but after seeing the response live the rest of the band twisted Tyler’s arm (literally and metaphorically) to put it out as a single. Since then, the response has been mega and has recently been used on the new Scott’s Menswear add campaign - shout out to Scotts!!!

What do you have coming up?

Our new single ‘I Just Can’t Believe That We Share the Same Name’ is just out and is about the brothers in the band (Tyler and Dion). The tune was written on a plane back from Cyprus and was inspired by the regular insults hurled between the two and we wanted to get this into a tune. Dion’s got a great set of lungs on em so it was the perfect opportunity to get him on lead vocals. We’ve always loved tunes that have a call and response like D is for Dangerous by The Arctic Monkeys, so we wanted to do our own!

Catch The Chase live...
