Another year, another Record Store Day—and 2022 is looking set to be extra busy as vinyl-heads pack into the country's record stores to pick up their must-have collectibles.

Record Store Day has become a staple outing for Gigwise, and this year we will be one of the judges for RSD Unsigned, in which bands and artists submit music for the chance to have a song pressed to 500 records.

Here, we take a look at some of the most covetable cuts that'll be in hundreds of stores on 23 April, the special 15th anniversary edition...

See the full list here.

Blondie - Sunday Girl EP

One of Blondie's best-loved songs 'Sunday Girl'—which featured on the huge 1978 album Parallel Lines—gets a special 3,000 press on yellow wax for RSD. A 4-D love letter to the tune, this release gets the original single version, the French version, a demo of the song as well as a live rendition recorded at the Portland's Paramount Theater in January 1979.

Buena Vista Social Club - Ahora Me Da Pena

Naming the vinyl re-release of Buena Vista Social Club's self-titled 1996 debut "one of the most attractive, sumptuous deluxe editions in recent memory" and awarding it 10/10, this is an absolute must-snag. The collective's 25th anniversary continues with the EP Ahora Me Da Pena, which contains three songs previously-unreleased to vinyl and another completely unreleased.

The Cranberries - Remembering Dolores

The premature death of Cranberries vocalist Dolores O'Riordan in January of 2018 was a great tragedy in the world of rock music. Remembering Dolores got a digital release around what should have been her 50th birthday last winter. Now, the special collection is going physical. Five-thousand copies will be available.

Fats Domino - Here Comes...Fats Domino

A man who deserves more recognition than Elvis Presley (a truth even The King conceded), Fats Domino is one of the most engaging originators of rock'n'roll, and on this album, he stuns from 'When I'm Walking (Let Me Walk)' all the way through to 'Tell Me The Truth, Baby'. Available on vinyl for the first time since 1975—and for the first time on colour vinyl.

I Don't Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance) - Glass Animals

Glass Animals are in the blush of their second era (the first being their Mercury-nommed indie genius phase), prioritising pop bangers and world domination. The massive 'I Don't Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)' is getting a cherry-graphic release, and the A-side version features The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr.

Madness - Baggy Trousers

The first 12" vinyl outing for 'Baggy Trousers', this is a must for any ska fan.

Nicki Minaj - Beam Me Up Scotty

Nicki Minaj's 2009 mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty was her breakout moment—and a leading light for many artists who would follow. Hot pink marble in design, the vinyl release is an RSD first containing two discs so as to fit in all 23 tracks.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Unlimited Love

The just-announced twelfth studio album from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Unlimited Love sees the band re-unite with original Chili Pepper John Frusciante for the first time since 2006's Stadium Arcadium. Slated for an April Fool's Day release, the 23 April vinyl special is a RSD exclusive rendered on silver wax and including a poster of the band.

The Replacements - Unsuitable for Airplay: The Lost KFAI Concert (Live)

There will be 10,000 of The Replacements' "lost" live record Unsuitable for Airplay, but it's likely all of them will be snapped up. This early recording captures the band's original line-up (Paul, Bob, Tommy and Chris) live in 1981 at the 7th St Entry in their hometown of Minneapolis.

Surfbort - Keep On Truckin'

One of our favourite albums of 2021, Keep On Truckin' is NYC-via-L.A. punks Surfbort's move towards more radio-friendly music. There are tonnes of bops here, but that's not to say there aren't frenetic, near-nonsensical moments either (‘White Claw Enema Bong Hit’, anyone?). Thanks in part, frontperson Dani told us, to producer Linda Perry, this is an album with a handful of addictive hooks that, tangled up in the gnarly pedigree of the band, make for something totally distinctive. A must-have for any collection.

The Lakes - Taylor Swift

The pièce de résistance of Record Store Day 2022 sees combined UK-US RSD ambassador Taylor Swift release bonus folklore track 'the lakes' as a 7" pressing. Sharpen your elbows and let us know if you're one of the lucky 10,000 to bag it.

Record Store Day 2022 takes place in hundreds of record stores across the UK on 23 April.
