Before you hear them on the radio, telly, Hot New Bands; before they’ve got a manager or an agent; before you see them smashing the main stages, it's more than likely they'll have played or received early support from This Feeling. 

In February, TF shared their annual big list of Ones to Watch in the world of indie music in 2022. Every week, you can meet a new artist that made it onto that list...

If you had to put your music in two genres, which would you choose?

Our lyrics captivate the fun that comes with the indie-pop genre, but can sometimes become heavier and more towards the indie-rock side of things.

What kind of stuff can you imagine your music being the soundtrack for?

Our music would probably be best fitted to a coming of age film, something similar to the likes of Juno, Easy A or Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Tell us an older artist and a brand new artist that inspires you.

Older artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood massively inspire us. Arctic Monkeys in particular have a unique way of storytelling throughout their songs that captivates exactly how you feel in that moment and is incredibly relatable. Newer artists such as Zuzu and Orla Gartland are prime examples of that too!

What's the best part of playing live?

There’s nothing better than being on a stage with your best mates looking at a crowd that are enjoying it just as much as we are…and that’s the important part! If it wasn’t for the lush people that come to our shows with all their energy we wouldn’t be getting to play them in the first place.

Tell us about your latest release.

Our latest release is our debut EP You Say She's Satisfied and in our humble opinion it's packed with energy and attitude from start to finish! We try to write catchy lyrics to make perfect songs to scream with your best mate about that dickhead ex of yours! The EP is out now on all digital platforms and is also available as a limited edition vinyl thanks to our friends at Press On Vinyl in Middlesbrough.

We can't thank the Press On team for letting us be the first vinyl off the press in the new factory, such an honour. The response to the EP has blown us away so far and we still can't believe that legends like Chris Hawkins (6 Music), John Kennedy (Radio X) and Tom Robinson (6 Music) have played us on the radio!

What have you got coming up?

Our first UK tour this April! We can't wait. 2022 has been good to us so far, and this tour feels like the perfect chance for us to show everyone what we're all about. 

What other bands tipped by This Feeling this year do you like or looking forward to seeing?

We’d absolutely love to see Second Thoughts: we first heard about the band from the Big in 2022 line up and loved their sound straight away! We’re huge fans of Bombay Bicycle Club, Circa Waves and The Royston Club so how could we not love them!!!
