There ain't no party like a Los Bitchos party. On Wednesday night (2 March), the pan-continental quartet brought the UK leg of their Let The Festivities Begin! tour to a close at the impressively twisty-turny Scala in King's Cross.

With a crowd so large it spilled out of the doors and down the stairs into the foyer, the fouresome from Australia, Uruguay, Sydney and the UK had the whole room moving to the beats of their world music.

In life as on record, 'The Link Is About To Die', 'Las Panteras' and 'Pista (Fresh Start)' go down with the most storming reactions from a crowd who don't need tequila to feel as though they've had a fair few shots of the stuff.

The performance from multi-instrumentalist Serra Petale is particularly electric, her adeptness with the electric guitar truly something to behold. The rest of the band move in time with the cumbian rhythms, setting the joyful vibe for everyone else's ecstasy.

With their debut album, Los Bitchos have shaken up the British underground scene and reminded us that a world of sounds are available to us. A gateway to inter-continental listening pleasure, Los Bitchos are a complete experience by themselves; pied pipers of the party.

Issue Three of the Gigwise Print magazine is preselling now! Order here.
