KT Tunstall has apologised for her recent attack on Dido, in an attempt to prevent any longstanding fued between the two singers.

Tunstall this week slammed the coffee table favourite when questionned over similarities in their singing styles, declaring that "Dido can't sing", but has since decided to rethink her comments to avoid causing offence.

She is reported as saying she was ashamed at how she responded and that her frustration came from people questionning her ability as a live performer.

"If there is one thing I can blow my own trumpet about it's that I can let rip at a live show," she is quoted as saying.

When asked about the Dido comments, she said: "I don't subscribe to this whole thing of being offensive to other artists. I know she is a musician doing what she really believes in."
