Brandon Flowers has revealed that his label asked him to make an EDM record, and that he may be set to appear on New Order's album.

Speaking to the Independent, Flowers revealed that his track 'I Can Change' (which samples Bronski Beat's 'Smalltown Boy') came about after his label made a 'big push for me to do an appearance on a DJ song".

When quizzed as to which DJ approached him - whether it was Calvin Harris, David Guetta or Avicii, Flowers reponded: "Everybody. Every single one. They all sent me tunes – songs you hear on the radio [now]. But I just couldn't sing them… So anyway, part of all that was them asking me, 'Well, what would you like?' And I said, 'Well, something that's like 'Smalltown Boy' would be cool.'" Flowers then received some material from Axwell and Ingrosso and cleared Somerville for the sample.

Flowers also revealed that he may be recording a track with Bernard Sumner's New Order although declined to give further details. Queried about rumours that he was going to be on the new Duran Duran record he responded "I might be on a new New Order song. So that's cool." However nothing has been confirmed.  "But it's gonna be tricky with the label… I'm definitely not gonna be able to be on both of them."
