Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones and Lauryn Hill are amongst the acts scheduled to play this year’s Afropunk Festival, which is being held from August 22-23 at Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park. You can view the full lineup below.

The festival will also feature the first ever Afropunk Fancy Dress Ball, which will be held on August 21, also at Commodore Barry Park, and will include performances from Grace Jones, Cakes Da Killa and MikeQ. This event will raise funds for the Afropunk Global Initiative, which is an “alliance dedicated to moving the needle of progress closer to a holistic, democratic and enlightened representation of people of color within all facets of society with the goal to create unique programming that encourages diversity in media”.

Although tickets to the festival were free last year, due to the amount of attendees last year’s event saw (60,000), tickets for this year’s event can either be purchased or can be attained through an earned ticket program called Afropunk Army. Through the Afropunk Army, people can volunteer in exchange for a ticket. Such volunteer projects include landscaping (beautification, painting), packing supplies (meal prep, serving) and advocacy via social promotion.

Both paid and earned tickets will be available starting June 3. However, tickets are available to purchase here now, by using the presale password "2015" (via BrooklynVegan).

Additionally, Afropunk Festival will be bringing the two-day festival to Atlanta’s Central Park from October 3-4. The lineup for that event is yet to be announced.
