More about:

There might be a road named after Billy Joel, now that the 'Billy Joel Boulevard' bill has passed the New York State Senate.

As Newsday reports, a bill in the State Legislature to name a part of state Route 107 in the Long Island town Oyster Bay after Billy Joel passed in the Senate last week.

The bill, which was sponsored by state Senator Jack Martins and Assemblyman Michael Montesano, proposes that the “stretch of South Broadway from East John Street to West Old Country Road” will be called ‘Billy Joel Boulevard'.

You'll be driving through 'Billy Joel Boulevard' soon!

Joel, who is from Long Island himself, owns an Oyster Bay-based motorcycle shop called 20th Century Cycles. He also references Oyster Bay in his 1974 song ‘The Ballad of Billy the Kid’.
