Vile recently discussed the upcoming album with Rolling Stone, when he shared that work began on the album in Philadelphia last year, while recording took place in Brooklyn, Georgia, Athens and Southern California. He also revealed that the album will feature Warpaint drummer, Stella Mozgwa.

He went on to say that the LP will include some "ethereal, Appalachian-influenced folk songs" and described the new material as more "unguarded and vulnerable" and having a "night vibe".

In addition to confirming the album’s title, Vile also announced a world tour, which will be kicking off on October 2 in Boston, MA, and will be finishing on November 24 in Lisbon, Portugal.
