Don't mess with Earl...

Things didn't go quite according to plan for one concert-goer, when a fan invaded the stage at an Earl Sweatshirt show - only to be met by retaliation. Watch footage of the incident below.

The rapper and Odd Future star was performing at Auckland in New Zealand, when a fan found themselves on stage and wrapped his arms around him.

Earl didn't seem to appreciate this, lashing out and punching the fan before more of his entourage jump in for support - much to the delight of the audience.

Meanwhile, Sweatshirt is soon to return his tour to the US - for full dates and information, visit here.

  • Billie Joe Armstrong - I Heart Radio Music Festival: When Green Day had their set cut in half so Usher could have more time, Billie Joe Armstrong became apoplectic. "Give me a fucking break, one minute left. I've been around since fucking 1988, and you're gonna give me one fucking minute. I'm not fucking Justin Bieber you motherfuckers. Oh now I've got nothing left. Let me show you what one minute fucking means." He then proceeded to smash his guitar to bits. The real winner here though is this YouTube commenter: "I guess they didn't have the time to listen to him whine."

  • Courtney Love - Club Paradiso in Amsterdam: An audience member had been throwing water at Love and screaming "You killed Kurt" for much of Hole's Amsterdam gig. "You throw shit on me you don't get a fucking show," she suddenly declared. "Take your Bon Jovi shirt and go fuck yourself with Eddie Vedder's dildo. Is little miss Dutch bitch mad 'cause I married Kurt? Well tough shit, you ugly fat goth. That's fucking it, I fulfilled my contract, go fuck yourself. Kurt hated this town, I hate this town, you're on way too much hash, go fuck yourself. Go see Nine Inch Nails next time, they're much more your kind of crowd."

  • Josh Homme - Norwegian Wood Festival: Homme unleashed his wrath on a pratty kid who'd been throwing things on stage and didn't look much older than 16. "Don't throw shit at me. If you throw something at me I'm not so sick that I can't go down there and beat the fucking shit of you. I may have a fucking 102 temperature and been puking for two days, but I'll still butt-fuck you in front of your friends." After blurting out several homophobic slurs, Homme encouraged boy to the front, threw something at him, and concluded, "You miserable fucking cunt, go back to your mom's house you 12 year old dickless fucking turd."

  • Elvis Presley - Fat Albert: It might have been 1974, but it seems paparazzi culture had already begun during Presley's heyday. In the middle of a bizarre ten minute speech, the singer lamented the fact that his recent hospitalisation had prompted rumours that he had suffered a heroin overdose. "So I told them earlier," he told the crowd, "and don't get offended ladies and gentlemen, I'm talking to somebody else, If I find or hear the individual who said that about me, I'm gonna break your God damn neck you son of a bitch... I will pull your God damn tongue out by the ROOF. Thankyouverymuch."

  • Kanye West - Wireless: It's funny that West's name is so synonymous with rants, and yet his is by far the tamest in this gallery. It was perhaps more the length (it was over 20 minutes long) than the content that caused hundreds of people to start to boo and leave the set early. "What did I ever do that was so wrong other than believe in myself? I'm not gonna mention any names, but Nike, Louis Vuiton, Gucci, don't discriminate against me because I'm a black man making music. They're trying to beat down, and demonise and dishumanise, I don't know if that's a word or not, but it's now a word cus I said it's a fucking word."

  • Elton John - Kingsholm Stadum: After the stewards apparently tried to stop audience members waving their arms in the air, Elton decided to go after one particular steward to vent his outrage. "This is my fucking concert, who are you? Especially you with the fucking blonde ponytail... Yes you, this isn't fucking China, now piss off. My fans have paid good money and if they want to wave their fucking arms they fucking can. Now piss off!" Later, the singer had a change of heart, and brought the woman on stage to apologise.

  • Smash Mouth's Steve Harwell - Colorado: Possibly confusing the 'All Star' singer with a duck, audience members began throwing complimentary bread, which was being given away by one of the food stalls, at Harwell. "You throw one more piece of shit on the fucking stage, I'm gonna come find your ass, I'm gonna beat your ass, whoever the fuck you are," he yelled, while his band awkwardly repeated the opening riff to the band's biggest hit. "You want to be a bad ass, walk your ass up here? You're a pussy punk bitch. "

  • Axl Rose - Bay Area, US: Gun 'N Roses went on tour with Metallica back in the day, but they subsequently relished badmouthing each other on stage. "Metallica do a lot of bitching for a band that got paid about 20 or 30 per cent more than they fucking deserved at a show," Axl Rose told a booing crowd. "I thought I was friends with these people. I'm supposed to be the rock racist, because I used a word once. I watched [James Hetfield] show me that he was a motherfucking racist. I watched them be really shitty to black people who worked with us."
