More about: Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus surprise-released her 23-track new album, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, last night. Listen to it below.
The singer hosted the MTV VMAs yesterday - and it was a mixed bag to say the least. While Cyrus' hosting went relatively smoothly, Nicki Minaj called her a "bitch" on stage while confronting her over recent interview comments.
Thankfully, Cyrus recovered enough to announce the release of her new album at the end of the show. The release features collaborations with Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne, Ariel Pink, Big Sean and Mike Will Made It.

Speaking to The New York Times, Cyrus explained that the album was inspired by the death of her beloved dog Floyd - whose emotional legacy she believes lives on in the form of Wayne Coyne: "I really think, in a way, his energy went into Wayne’s energy. What he was to me, Wayne has become."
Cyrus also spoke of Taylor Swift's group of high-profile celebrity friends. “I’m not trying to be in the squad," she said. "None of my friends are famous and not because of any other reason than I just like real people who are living real lives, because I’m inspired by them."
