Police are reported to have dropped one of three investigations of sex offences allegedly committed by Sir Cliff Richard.

The pop veteran was first interviewed by police in relation to an alleged historical sex offence in August 2014, but has n ever been arrested or charged.

Now, a source close to Richard claims that police have dropped one of the investigations relating to men being assaulted in the 1980s, after it is claimed that they could not gather enough evidence.

"Cliff has given police evidence that he was never on his own on the days when the alleged attacks took place," the source told The Sunday Times.

When asked for comment, South Yorkshire Police responded that they “won’t be providing a running commentary on the investigation. The inquiry continues and inquiries are ongoing”.

Sir Cliff Richard strongly denies any wrongdoing. He will be touring later this year, with dates beginning at the end of this month. For tickets and more information, visit here
