Noel Gallagher has once again spoken of his time with Oasis in a new interview, saying, "As a live band, we got better - as the songs got worse."
The singer appeared as the first guest on Chris Moyles' new breakfast show on Radio X this morning (21 September), during which Moyles mocked the accusations that the station was being branded at men by playing Girls Aloud's 'Love Machine' as the first track.
During his guest slot, Gallagher was quizzed by Moyles on the possibility of an Oasis reunion, and responded, "Probably not in the very near future. One should never say never though, when someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion…" He added, "I'm sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it [an Oasis reunion] but there’s one that wouldn’t…me."
Speaking of the trajectory of the band, who split acrimoniously in 2009, Gallagher continued, "The second lot of gigs we did at Wembley were infinitely better. As a live band, we got better - as the songs got worse."
As for the last time Gallagher saw his brother Liam, with whom he has always had something of a tempestuous relationship - that was "when City won the league about 8-9 months ago… I don’t hang out with my family, I never did…"
