At least ten fans were injured at an Arizona music festival over the weekend after fans surged towards the stage during Rebelution's set.
The roots reggae band were performing at Summer Ends on Saturday (26 September) when the crowd surged forwards, and several people were trampled or became trapped after being pinned against the barricades in front of the stage.
In a statement, City of Tempe spokesperson Nikki Ripley said, "The high temperature and a non-violent crowd that surged toward the stage were responsible for the treatment or observation of about 300 concert-goers by Tempe Fire Medical Rescue."
She added, "Alcohol played a role for some of the people needing treatment. About 16 people were transported to area hospitals. Activities on the stage were temporarily halted in order to provide treatment and to ask concert-goers to back up."

"It was crazy," one fan fan told KTVK. "People were getting pushed, stepped on, trampled over. Nobody was really caring about anybody. Everyone was so eager to get to the front, they just kept pushing." Another fan told the station that her daughter was "stomped on."
Performances at the annual festival, where the likes of Kanye West and Hozier were on the bill, were put on hold while fans were treated - but headliner J.Cole performed as scheduled.
