The Strokes have been photographed in a studio, suggesting that they are finally working on new material.

The ‘Last Nite’ rockers had announced that they were heading back to the studio to work on new material at Landmark Festival earlier this year. It's been an epic year for the band on the road - including a huge show at London's British Summer Time

Since their last album, Comedown Machine, which was released in 2013, Julian Casablancas and Albert Hammond Jr have both released solo material. Casablancas released Tyranny in September 2014 and Hammond released Momentary Masters in May earlier this year. As a group, the Strokes themselves have been relatively quiet, playing the occasional festival.

Over the weekend, The Strokes were in Mexico headlining Mexico’s Live Out Monterrey Festival. During their visit, the ‘Reptilia’ rock stars dropped by Monterrey’s Victoria Records where the company’s CEO Victoria Morales-Kühne posted an Instagram picture of the band.

Her caption read suggested that the band had rented out two studios to record and to rehearse.
