Phil Collins kicked off his comeback by performing his first solo concert in six years.
The former Genisis singer turned solo icon performed at the Dreaming On The Beach benefit concert in Miami’s Fillmore on Friday 11 March. The singer had announced the comeback gig in February.
His seven-song set included his own hits, ‘Another Day in Paradise,’ ‘Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),’ ‘In The Air Tonight,’ ‘Easy Lover,’ and ‘Take Me Home’. He also performed two covers to close the performance – The Temptation’s ‘My Girl’ and Bob Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’.

The original comeback gig was supposed to take place in December 2014 but was cancelled at the last minute after Collins cited illness and a poor sound check. Proceeds for the annual benefit concert go towards Little Dreams Foundation, a charity that was founded by Collins’ ex-wife, Orianne Cevey. Earlier in 2014, he had sung two of his songs with Miami Country Day School students.
Collins told Rolling Stone in October, "I'm no longer officially retired. The horse is out of the stable and I'm raring to go. My kids are now 10 and 14 and they want to see what their dad does. They were in nappies when I was last on the road. They love my music and I'd like to take them out so they can enjoy it."
At the end of last year, Collins branded Adele a “slippery little fish” over their failed collaboration.
