Lily Allen's stalker case ordeal continues to roll on, as she clashes with police on Twitter. Actress and activist Samantha Morton, however, has stepped in to lend her support.
'The Fear' and 'Smile' star spoke out after her nine year horror with a stalker came to an end when Alex Gray was imprisoned, after harrassing her on Twitter, threatening to stab her in the face, stealing her handbag and even breaking into her bedroom. Allen has since spoken out to slam the police for their handling of the situation - accusing them of 'victim shaming', while agreeing with Gray's mother that the 'system let them down'.
Now, Control and Minority Report actress Morton, who appeared in court in 2008 to testify against her childhood friend Noel Watts for behaviour relating to stalking and harrassment, has taken to Twitter to offer her support:
@lilyallen thank you for sharing. So brave of you.I've been stalked by the same man since 14 yrs old. In prison now but took its time....

@lilyallen they're so good at 'loosing certain files' I have no faith in the police anymore.

Meanwhile, Allen continues to argue for more action to be taken in stalker cases and for victims to be handled better - even clashing with a chief constable on Twitter:
.@ACCGarryShewan you avoided all the questions and you said victims like lily who don't report it are putting themselves in danger

I object to the notion that because there are different degrees of stalking that it makes it harder to prosecute.

.@ACCGarryShewan @metpoliceuk well I sent them a response to their email over 48 hrs ago and have had nothing back.
