Rihanna revealed the very NSFW video for her latest single, ‘Needed Me’, yesterday. Certain publications were outraged, but the people of the internet were having none of it.
The video was directed by cult writer / director Harmony Korine, who’s responsible for the likes of Kids, Spring Breakers and Mister Lonely.
The highly-stylised video sees Rihanna marching into a strip club, a determined look on her face, and shooting a heavily tattooed man dead.
The Atlantic were quick to voice their outrage, pointing out that it was “the third time that Rihanna has murdered a guy in a music video.”
“Her apparent disinterest in the consequences of her actions within the world of the video,” the piece continues, “is equal to her apparent disinterest to the consequences outside of it.”
The internet was having none of it.
imagine seeing rihanna murder men in music videos and being mad about it and not just because she's not murdering you

If Quentin Tarantino can murder ppl in his films as "art" then Rihanna can certainly purge her own experiences w/men's violence as art
