Last night, Blink-182 revealed their first new song since the departure of Tom DeLonge - and fans have some very strong feelings.
‘Bored To Death’ - which premiered on US radio station KROQ - is also the first chance to hear music that was written with new member Matt Skiba, who joined the band from Alkaline Trio last year after their acrimonious split from DeLonge.
The dominant reaction on social media seems to have been a positive one.
New @blink182 is everything I hoped it would be. I'm in love! Thank you @markhoppus for still being my favorite band.

Though some weren’t so impressed.
Others felt that it was basically just a song by +44 - the rock supergroup which comprised Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, alongside members of The Nervous Return and Mercy Killers.
Did Blink release a new song today or +44???
— Dave Days (@davedays) April 28, 2016
The new blink song sounds like a +44 song. Matt and mark are way too close voice wise. It's ok. Lyrics are eh.
— Ghost (@Ghostt_Gaming) April 27, 2016
It sounds like +44 and Untitled blink album had a baby 😭
— Blink-182 Problems (@BlinkProblems) April 27, 2016
@GyanYankovich it sounds more like Plus 44 than Blink to me
— Caitlin Jinks (@caitlinjinks) April 28, 2016
This ain't blink really tho is it, It's basically +44 under the blink brand to sell better
— X (@browndoode) April 27, 2016
It's a good +44 song. But a crap Blink song :/ Overload and Voyager are better. @markhoppus @travisbarker

Blink-182’s new album, California, is set for release on 1 July (which, incidentally, is the 182nd day of the year.)
