AC/DC have explained their decision to offer refunds to fans who’d bought tickets to their forthcoming world tour, saying they “care about their fans and wanted to do right by them.”

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is currently preparing to step into Brian Johnson’s shoes after Johnson was urged to 'stop touring immediately' or risk losing his hearing, midway through the band’s current Rock Or Bust tour

While many people were excited about the impromptu supergroup, some weren’t happy. Subsequently, fans who bought tickets for the band’s shows, including their London Olympic Stadium show on 4 June, have been given the opportunity to claim their money back - but they only have until 5pm on Friday, 6 May to do so.

In a statement to Team Rock, a spokesperson for AC/DC said, "The band made a decision to offer this. As they care about their fans and wanted to do right by them, they instructed local promoters to offer refunds.”

A spokeswoman for the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) also confirmed the band are under no legal obligation to offer refunds, saying, "Our CTSI lead officer for fair trading can confirm that there is no legal obligation for the ticket sellers to refund in this case. It is a goodwill gesture.”

If you’re not averse to Axl Rose, you can see AC/DC's UK dates below. Get tickets and more information here.

  • 'Highway To Hell': Recorded at the legendary Roundhouse in Camden, this is the biggest single off their remarkable 1979 album, which, sadly, was the last they did with Bon Scott.

  • 'Back In Black': The band recorded this in distressing conditions as Bon Scott had just passed away. But overcoming tragedy, they came out with this which is one of the greatest rock anthems ever.

  • 'You Shook Me All Night Long': More unsurpassable quality from Back In Black with passionate and crude lyrics about incredible sex with an ex partner.

  • 'Touch Too Much': This is a brilliant, passionate song about the dangers of excess. Ominously Bon Scott died from drinking just six months after it was released.

  • 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap': This is one of the most animated songs they do live as it involves a lot of crowd interaction. Featuring Bon Scott, it's the title track from the band's second studio album.

  • 'Jailbreak': Taken from their first EP, this is a song about the Australian mass-murderer Mark Brandon Reid who is known as 'Chopper'. The violent criminal was jailed for killing people "in self-defence" and tried to escape from prison. Bon Scott read about it in a paper and penned this anthemic rock cut.

  • 'It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock N' Roll)': AC/DC started out with no money and grafted their way to their top by braving some torrid conditions. This song is a release from all that hard work and the embrace of making it feels like celebration. It's a great opening to their first proper album.

  • 'Thunderstruck': One of the greatest guitar intros of all time, this one showcases Angus Young's brilliant hammer on and pull off technique. It's been ripped off in so many different ways but never been done as well.

  • 'For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)': This is the title track from their chart topping 1982 album. The song's title is based on "For those about to die", which is what Roman gladiators would say to high rulers before fighting to the death in the arena. The passion with which this is sung feels like there is life at stake.

  • 'T.N.T': This is taken from Their 1976 High Voltage album. It peaked at No.11 in the Australian chart. It still does well today appearing in films and video games. It's well known for being on the original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater soundtrack.

  • 'The Jack': Angus Young has always written the catchiest riffs and 'The Jack' is particularly memorable. According to Bon Scott, it's a song about a houseful of ladies from whom they caught Gonorrhea. 'The Jack' is Australian slang for the STI.

  • 'Whole Lotta Rosie': An inflatable large puppet woman forms the backdrop of the stage for this track. It's a hugely theatrical song about Bon Scott having sex with a large lady backstage who recorded her 'conquests' in a black book.

  • 'Riff Raff': It's difficult to find a better riff on Powerage, it's fast, bluesy and fun. Powerage is also one of their best and most overlooked albums.

  • 'High Voltage': The title track from their first album is a thunderous joy. It keeps with the electricity theme that makes the band's logo so distinct, and celebrates the biggest thing in their lives - rock and roll.
