Portugal-based electronic producer Bruno Miguel aka :PAPERCUTZ teams up with vocalist Catarina Miranda on new single ‘Trust/Surrender’, featured today here on Gigwise.

Forming :PAPERCUTZ as a side project in 2005, Miguel has taken inspiration from many the likes of Brian Eno, Björk and Kate Bush. On ‘Trust/Surrender’, distorted synthesisers and blankets of electronic sound are piled over impulsive tribal beats.

"If only I could let go" sings Miranda, as an indigenous chorus of voices urges "Surrender", the confluence of tribal and urban electronic sounds evoking the lyrical discordance between celebration and autonomy, between dance and self-control.

:PAPERCUTZ toured throughout Europe, the US and Asia towards the end of 2015 and debuted their new songs this year in Vegas and New York. The band is now set to release their new album ‘King Ruiner’ in 2017.

In lieu of this release they will play Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, Netherlands - a new music festival responsible for kicking off the careers of James Blake, Aurora, Royal Blood and many others. Eurosonic takes place 11 - 14 January.
