Following her spectacular Super Bowl show, 'Poker Face' popstar Lady Gaga has shed light on the secrets behind the extravagant halftime performance.
Speaking in a phone interview as part of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, Gaga revealed that she watched "almost every single halftime show" in preparation, and to work out what had the greatest impact on the viewer. The performer decided she wanted to "do something that was a little different" and tried to figure out a way to "use the stadium" to create something with the most impressive visuals possible.
Well, she certainly achieved that. The spectacle resulted in 5.1 million tweets about the performance in which Gaga performed snippets of her biggest hits including 'Bad Romance', 'Just Dance' and 'Telephone'.
Gaga states however, aside from the 300 drones which lit up overhead, that there wasn't a lot of technology involved in the production of the show.
"I thought less was more for me. Even though it probably didn't seem like that watching the show because it was so big, it really was just a really cool stage with fire."
During the interview, the singer revealed it was the physical side to the performance which was most challenging: "I just kept doing it over and over, and I worked up my stamina, I worked out a lot, I trained a lot, and by the time it was showtime, I was ready."
It was revealed after the performance that the introduction with Gaga standing on the roof of the stadium was pre-recorded due to logistical and safety reasons.
